The North Texas Conference (NTC), in compliance with the 2016 Book of Discipline (paragraph 644) is dedicated to the support and work of the NTC Commission on the Status and Role of Women (COSROW) under the guidance and mandates of the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women (GCRSW). The COSROW team has been challenging the North Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church for full and equal participation by providing resources and training around monitoring, leadership development, educational materials and sexual ethics.

COSROW advocates for full participation of women in the total life of The United Methodist Church. We’re helping the church recognize every person – clergy and lay, women and men, adults and children  as full and equal parts of God’s human family. We believe that a fully engaged and empowered membership is vital to The United Methodist Church’s mission "to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."

For the past few years, the team has been working on creating assessment tools and gathering relevant data for the Cabinet’s awareness to help inform them when making decisions regarding appointments. The team has been gathering historical data relevant to the 50th anniversary of GCSROW. COSROW, specifically over the past two years,  has teamed up with the Crisis Response Team Coordinator to update our Conference Personal Conduct/Sexual Ethics Policies and Procedures, and create the Sexual Misconduct, Prevention, and Support webpage on the conference website.

If you would like to speak with the team or inquire about being involved in our work, email Rev. Heather Gottas Moore, COSROW Chair.
