Wednesdays during Advent
6-7 p.m. (Dec 2-23)
Third- through fifth-grade students from around the North Texas Conference are invited to come together during Advent to discover the journey to the Christ child during our virtual Camp Bible 2020.
Though we’re moving online, we’ll still be bringing children together to learn about their Bibles and grow in their love of God and each other. Join in weekly as leaders from Kessler Park UMC, FUMC Richardson, FUMC Sherman and White Rock UMC lead us through the stories of Christmas found in Matthew, Mark and Luke, using engaging games, interactive prayer and accessible crafts.
We invite children’s ministers to participate in this year’s Camp Bible by registering your group, and participating with the conference wide program. However, we recognize this might not fit everyone’s needs, so we will also be making the four lessons available for use at no cost to our churches. This package will be ready for download Friday, Nov. 6.
We recognize a huge part of Camp Bible is an introduction to our beloved Camp Bridgeport. Bridgeport has been a vital part of faith formation for children, youth and young adults across the North Texas Conference for generations, and this Advent season, we’ve made a way for you to support Bridgeport and family faith formation.
We are offering special Advent Boxes that will include Traci Smith’s book, Faithful Families for Advent and Christmas, which offers 100 easy ideas to make the season sacred at home, from a blessing of the decorations, to prayers for those missing from our celebrations, to creating a simple Epiphany party. We’ll highlight a few of our favorites from the book and provide some simple supplies. Our Advent Boxes will also feature special face masks with the Bridgeport logo on them, made especially for our Camp Bible families. Order Advent Boxes on the Registration form.
