Job Description

Reporting: This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor and Staff-Parish Relations Committee

Duties

For Building & Property:

  • Fully engage with the Board of Trustees, including meeting/email correspondence, in overseeing building and property maintenance, usage, and growth plans.
  • Resource, assist, guide and represent the Board of Trustees during the week.
  • Work with the office administrator to inventory and acquire necessary supplies appropriate for the functions of the campus.
  • Oversee a team of volunteer workers for small projects and necessary building set-up/rearranging for ministry functions.
  • Ensure operations of the campus are fully functional.
  • Work with outside vendors for non-volunteer maintenance and repair.
  • Coordinate with the custodial staff to ensure cleanliness of property and facilities.
  • Work with the Director of Communications to ensure all property and buildings are decorated and outfitted in ways that communicate church’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Work with the Director of Communications to provide any and all technology needs for ministry success. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for outside groups seeking to use the building and coordinate with the Office Manager regarding scheduling for the calendar.
  • Oversee opening and closing of facilities via door scheduling and/or dogging doors – including Sunday worship services.
  • Serve as the primary “on call” contact for alarm and fire systems and in case of emergency.

For IT:

  • Responsible for campus network and Microsoft 365 tenet management
  • Ensure data security by making sure backups are handled appropriately, data ownership is regularly audited, and problems are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for hardware/software integration, updating, and licensing.
  • Effectively utilize Shelby NEXT (or the current cloud membership database system), HVAC controls, door access controls, security cameras and other building system software.  
  • When needed work with a volunteer team to acquire appropriate technology for the staff, classrooms, infrastructure and coordinating worship equipment.

General:

  • Participate in requisite church planning, staff meetings, development and celebration events
  • Create and build relationships by nurturing conversations and engagement during activities and by attending various events throughout the year
  • All other tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor

  • Strong commitment to discretion and confidentiality
  • Capable of maintaining focus, patience, and peace in a busy environment that involves a full-time preschool, numerous community organizations, and multiple staff members
  • Ability to handle conflict with grace
  • Demonstrates learning agility while being coachable and open to growth
  • 1+ years of experience working with facility management
  • Proficiency in Office suite, Windows based systems
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., or coordinate heavy lifting and/or carrying as needed
