Two New Staff Join NTC Ministry Center Team
Pam Hughes named Communication Director; Nichole Gibson is Associate Treasurer
The North Texas Conference is happy to announce the hiring of two new staff members at the Ministry Center. Pamela Hughes stepped into her role as Director of Communications on Jan. 20, and Nichole Gibson began serving as Associate Treasurer and Controller on Jan. 18.
Hughes is a professional communicator with 15 years of experience in communications counsel for high-profile brands and personalities, including four-star generals, elected officials, corporate and nonprofit executives and a former U.S. president.
She most recently served as a senior director at Dallas-based SPM Communications, where she led restaurant and retail account teams to develop powerful media, influencer and digital strategies.
Hughes is a lifelong United Methodist and member of First UMC Richardson, where she currently serves as church council chair.
“The combination of her professional communications experience and her lifelong commitment to The United Methodist Church will be a real gift to our work,” said Rev. Andy Lewis, Assistant to the Bishop and Director of the Center for Missional Outreach. “Pam is a strategic thinker, a great writer and editor, and brings a collaborative spirit.”
Hughes will also serve as a member of Bishop McKee’s extended cabinet.
“I also envision Pam and the communications team becoming a valuable resource to local church communicators across the North Texas Conference in ways that will make us all more effective,” Rev. Lewis said.
Hughes and her husband, Steven, live in Richardson with their two sons, Dillon (9) and AJ (6), and their rescue dog, Freckles.
Gibson holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Houston and brings 16 years of experience, including almost seven years in not-for-profit accounting at The Episcopal School of Dallas.
“We are excited to have Nichole join our team,” Director of Connectional Resources Christy Drenner said. “She brings extensive experience in NFP accounting. In just a few short days, she has already ‘rolled up her sleeves’ and jumped into the middle of many projects.”
Born and raised in Converse, Texas, near San Antonio, Gibson relocated to Dallas in 2013. She lives in Carrollton with her husband, Leon, and two sons, Jamal (12) and Miles (5).
