Still Picking Up the Pieces from Hurricane Harvey

Repairing a roof

Join the CMO, Labors for Neighbors on an upcoming rebuilding trip to La Grange

Hurricane Harvey might have barreled ashore along the Texas Gulf Coast more than one year ago, but there still is considerable work to do before rebuilding is complete.

Are you or others in your church still looking for ways to assist in these efforts? The Center for Missional Outreach is sponsoring a multi-church trip for individuals and small groups on Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, where we will be replacing a roof in the La Grange area. Labors for Neighbors – a nonprofit group that shares a love for Christ, a passion for mission and an enjoyment of Christian fellowship – will lead the trip.

No experience is needed, and the cost to attend is $95 a person – which includes all meals, tools, transportation, training and lodging at the Cathedral Oaks Retreat Center. For more information, email Rev. Andy Lewis, director of the Center for Missional Outreach.

The North Texas Conference is committed to sending 300 work teams to the Rio Texas Conference in 2018, 2019 and 2020. To date, we are well on the way to our goal with 68 total trips. To help us keep an accurate track of upcoming trips, be sure to text 300toRio to 66866 with information.
