First UMC Krum had too many issues to overcome — dwindling membership base, debt and reputation challenges — so it "went dark" in 2022 to reassess. Rev. Jarrod Johnston came aboard in July 2023 and is working hard to build fellowship with interest events, worship services and participation in local events. "We want to build something sustainable from the ground up," Johnston said.
