Perez Gives Thanks For Mujeres con Propósito Retreat

Spanish-speaking women’s retreat ministry is where Perez was given the opportunity to develop gifts, talents 

Carmen Perez began attending the Mujeres con Propósito retreats 10 years ago. It is there she first heard God’s call to ministry as she took on more and more leadership, and she is now pursuing licensing as a local pastor. Hear her account of God’s grace through this Spanish-speaking women’s retreat ministry. (English translation follows).

Primeramente quiero dar gracias por la oportunidad que se me brinda de dar el honor y la gloria a quien es digno de recibirla, a nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y agradecer de todo corazón a personas que han dispuesto su corazón a escuchar y obedecer la voz de Dios.

Hoy, más que nunca, necesitamos personas valientes que se levanten a dirigir a un pueblo necesitado de Dios. El grupo de Mujeres con Propósito, liderado por pastoras con un llamado de entrega y pasión por restaurar familias a sido un lugar donde mujeres de habla hispana de edades desde los 13 a 90 años se reúnen cada año con el único propósito de levantar el nombre de Dios en alto, a través del compañerismo, dinámicas, talleres y adoración.

En cada retiro Dios nos habla desde el tema para el retiro, en lo personal tengo diez años asistiendo a los retiros y es ahí donde Dios reafirmó mi llamado al ministerio, donde se me ha dado la oportunidad de desarrollar mis dones y talentos. Mi gran amiga Lety y yo sentimos hace algunos años ser parte de la decoración y de compartir un recuerdo para cada mujer que asistía al retiro.

Después se me dio la oportunidad de dar un devocional y este año tuve el desafío de dar un taller en cada una de esas oportunidades he tenido el respaldo de mi Pastora Martha Valencia y mi iglesia Elmwood El Buen Samaritano, puedo decir que Dios ha sido fiel siempre.

Quiero dar testimonio y decir con toda seguridad que el programa de mujeres con propósito estaba en el corazón de Dios, gracias pastora Martha, pastora Amy, pastora Lucy y pastora Ely por ser obedientes al llamado de Dios.

Y de esta manera poder despertar en cada una de esas mujeres los dones y talentos que Dios ya había depositado en sus corazones.

Alabo al Señor al final de cada retiro, al ver a cada mujer que regresa a casa con una gran sonrisa en su rostro, llenas de gratitud hacia Dios por su favor y su gracia.

First of all, I want to give thanks for the opportunity to give honor and glory to him who is worthy of receiving it, our Lord Jesus Christ, and to thank with all my heart the people who have opened their hearts to listen to and obey the voice of God.

Today, more than ever, we need brave people who rise up to lead people in need of God. The Women with Purpose group, led by pastors with a dedication and passion for restoring families, has been a place where Spanish-speaking women ages 13 to 90 meet each year with the sole purpose of lifting up God’s name high up through fellowship, devotionals, workshops and worship.

In each retreat, God speaks to us from the theme. Personally, I have been attending retreats for 10 years, and it is there where God reaffirmed my call to the ministry, where I have been given the opportunity to develop my gifts and talents. A few years ago, my great friend Lety and I felt the calling of being part of the decoration team and sharing a keepsake with each woman who attended the retreat.

Later on, I was given the opportunity to give a devotional, and this year I had the challenge of leading a workshop. In each of those opportunities, I have had the support of my Pastor Martha Valencia and my church Elmwood-El Buen Samaritano UMC. I can say that God has been faithful always.

I want to bear witness and say with all certainty that the Women of Purpose program was in the heart of God. Thank you Pastor Martha, Pastor Amy, Pastor Lucy and Pastor Ely for being obedient to God's calling.

And in this way we can awaken in each of those women the gifts and talents that God had already placed in their hearts.

I praise the Lord at the end of each retreat, seeing each woman who returns home with a big smile on her face, full of gratitude to God for his favor and grace.
