NTC Members to Vote on Paragraph 4, Article IV
The proposed amendment deals with ability, gender, age and marital status
At the North Texas Annual Conference and all other Annual and Central Conferences this year and next, members will vote on Paragraph 4, Article IV in The Book of Discipline, the constitution of The United Methodist Church. The amendment addresses issues of ability, gender, age and marital status.
The General Commission on the Status and Role of Women provides the following information on the proposal, which passed at last year’s General Conference and now requires at least a two-thirds majority of the total voters at annual conferences around the world to be ratified.
