North Texas #GivingTuesdayNow: NTC Offers To Match Funds

COVID-19 has had a profound impact both in our communities and on the organizations designed to serve them. In response to this crisis, Communities Foundation of Texas, the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and the Dallas Cowboys are partnering to sponsor a special North Texas Giving Day – from 6 a.m. to midnight Tuesday, May 5 – to aid programs that continue to provide work on the front lines. This is part of the global #GivingTuesdayNow campaign. You also can schedule your individual donations or special donations from your church here.

Andy LewisTo bolster this effort, the North Texas Conference is offering dollar-for-dollar matching funds up to $40,000 for donations made to nonprofits affiliated with The United Methodist Church. These organizations are

This matching opportunity is made possible through the North Texas Disaster Relief Fund, to which many around the conference have donated during previous times of duress. Leftover funds accumulated from past disasters that have since been resolved, such as the Rowlett tornados from 2015, will provide much-needed resources to provide relief in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.

The laity and clergy of the North Texas Conference have always been a giving people who are quick to come to the aid of others in need. I ask that you prayerfully consider making a difference and donating on Tuesday, May 5.
