ERTs Needed To Assist In Hurricane Relief Efforts
The Louisiana and Alabama-West Florida conferences are ready to receive Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) to help relief efforts necessitated by Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Sally. Doing so, however, requires registration and confirmation from both the North Texas Conference and the receiving conferences.
Louisiana is inviting trained ERT teams from around the United Methodist Connection to email Rev. Bob Deich, ERT coordinator, to schedule deployment.
Teams interested in assisting in Alabama-West Florida are asked to complete this online form to initiate the process. A team leader must be UMCOR badged and trained but other team members may work under the leadership of that trained person. Housing is available. Team members only need their personal items and a sleeping bag and any work items they have such as work gloves, rakes, etc. Food will be provided.
For more information and details, email Jurrita Williams Louie, the North Texas Conference’s ERT coordinator.
