Job Description
Nursery Attendant
Primary Responsibilities
- Childcare & Engagement: Safely supervise children, lead age-appropriate play for children ages infant to 3 years’ old
- Hygiene & Basic Needs: Attend to feeding, bottle-warming, nap times, and diaper changes following strict universal precautions and sanitary procedures.
- Safety & Security: Follow the church's child protection protocols Ensure only approved adults enter the room, and use secure pick-up systems to release children exclusively to authorized parents/guardians.
- Parent Communication: Greet families warmly, note specific instructions (e.g., allergies, feeding times), and discreetly alert parents during the service if a child is inconsolable or sick.
- Classroom Upkeep: Sanitize toys, change crib linens, and straighten the nursery before leaving.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Age & Background: Typically, 18 years or older with a satisfactory background check.
- Certifications: Current CPR and Pediatric First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them shortly after hiring). Background check and Ministry Safe training will be provided.
- Experience: Previous childcare or early childhood education experience is highly preferred.
- Character: A warm, patient, and loving demeanor with the ability to handle crying or distressed children in a calm, reassuring manner.
Working Conditions & Expectations
- Schedule: Part-time, primarily Sunday mornings 9:30am to 12:30 pm
- Pay: $15.00 Per hour
