Job Description

SVUMC seeks a tech-savvy and creative individual to join our team as a Part-Time AV Tech and Digital Media Assistant. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our audio-visual systems during services and events, as well as enhancing our digital and social media presence.

 

Key Responsibilities

• AV Support:
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment for Sunday services and special events.
• Ensure sound quality and video projections are optimal during services.
• Assist with presentation of services (live streaming, recording of services, design of media)
• Manage the setup and teardown of AV equipment.

 

• Digital Media:
• Capture photos and videos during church events and services.
• Edit and produce videos for online content, including weekly services and special messages.
• Maintain and update church social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
• Create engaging content for social media platforms to enhance online presence and community engagement.

 

• Technical Support:
• Provide technical support for church staff and volunteers.
• Ensure all AV and digital equipment is well-maintained and in working order.   - Stay updated with the latest AV and digital media trends and technologies.

 

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operating audio-visual equipment (soundboards, microphones, projectors, cameras, etc.).
• Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
• Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools.
• Basic understanding of live streaming technologies and platforms (YouTube Live, Facebook Live, etc.).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A commitment to the mission and values of Spring Valley UMC.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a church or similar environment.
• Graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). - Knowledge of lighting design and operation.

 

Work Schedule

• Required availability on Sunday mornings.
• Flexible hours during the week as needed for special events and content creation.
