Job Description

St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale, Texas is seeking a full-time youth director to help rebuild our youth program to help it thrive in a growing community. We are looking for a wonderful We are excited to hear your interests and gifts and to explore how we might implement those into the role.

 

Job Description

-Guide youth to becoming deeper disciples of Jesus Christ through teaching and Bible study; implement programs that will help the youth grow emotionally, spiritually, and socially.

-Lead weekly youth gatherings and occasional mission projects (with the assistance of parent volunteers); Order needed materials and coordinate logistics for activities

-Ensure a safe, compassionate environment for the youth to have fun, learn about God, and grow as people

- Build strong relationships with the youth and their families; facilitate adequate communication. Coordinate parent and church member volunteers for weekly events and Sunday School, Equip volunteers to be successful in assisting with youth

-Coordinate and attend summer activities such as UM Army mission trip and Lakeview church camp with youth and any other additional retreats

-Plan youth-led fundraisers as needed (all fundraisers must be approved by the Pastor and Board of Stewards)

-Community engagement-attend youth extracurricular activity and maintain an active presence in their lives.

Requirements

-Practicing and dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ, preferably familiar with United Methodist beliefs

-Bachelors or Associates Degree

-Valid Drivers License

-Passed background check
