Responsibilities:

Mission & Advocacy

Pastoral Leadership & Staff support for:

Missions and Advocacy Leadership Team
-
Provide spiritual leadership and staff support to ensure that MALT fulfills their RRE.

Explore the relationship between MALT and Church & Society
-

Rise Fund Committee
-
Provide spiritual leadership and staff support to ensure that the Rise Fund committee fulfills their RRE.
-
Represent FUMC Dallas with our Rise Fund partner agencies/organizations.

Guide FUMC Dallas’ approach to our newly adopted focus areas for mission & advocacy.
-
Ensure that the focus areas have a vertical stack of one local organization, one state/national organization, and one international partner organization per focus area.

Create and manage ongoing volunteer opportunities and advocacy efforts with each focus area’s vertical stack.
-
Represent FUMC Dallas with advocacy organizations

General Board Of Church & Society

Discipleship
-
Supervise our adult discipleship offerings to ensure they are aligned with our church’s mission.

Work with the Assistant Director of Congregational Care & Discipleship to create ongoing discipleship opportunities, with special attention given to creating new ways for spiritual formation outside of Sunday mornings.

Help lead the creation of original content for spiritual formation through traditional and nontraditional avenues (i.e. devotional guides, bible studies, podcasts, art, etc.)

Convene meetings and conversations with clergy and staff to ensure our church’s programmatic offerings are diverse in content

Community & Worship
-
Provide ongoing leadership and weekly pastoral presence in Modern Worship.
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for the band lead, band members, director of worship, church members, and first time guests.
-
Work with lay leadership to grow the impact of Modern Worship.

Supervision & Administration
-
Supervise Associate Minister of Congregational Care
-
Supervise The Assistant Director of Congregational Care & Discipleship
-
Supervise Modern Worship Band Lead
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
-
3-5 years of experience working in a church setting
-
Experience in adult discipleship and missions ministry
-
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively with ministry staff, volunteers, and leadership teams
-
Commitment to the mission and values of the United Methodist Church and to First UMC Dallas
-
Ability to successfully complete a background check and complete Ministry Safe training

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000
