Job Description: Finance Secretary

Part-Time

 

Position Summary

The Finance Secretary is a part-time position that reports to the Senior Pastor.

  • Oversee all journal entries
  • Weekly input offerings into Realm data base
  • Accounts payable and payroll including delivery of checks for authorization/signature

Monthly

  • Manage accounts receivable, weekly offerings, and bank reconciliations
  • Manage the ACH debit entries for the church
  • Monthly management of fixed assets and loan payments
  • Manage payroll & tax deposits/reporting on semi-monthly basis
  • Generate reports using generally accepted accounting principles, policies and practices for a non-profit religious organization
  • Prepare reports and financial overview for Finance Committee
  • Supervise monthly credit card statements and quarterly contribution statements
  • Prepare a monthly overview of missions giving and reports for trips as needed

Daily/Weekly

  • Put together check requests for invoices that come in throughout the week
  • Monitor and keep record of all incoming online payments
  • Manage A/P file system

Monthly/Quarterly or as Needed

  • Oversee monthly credit card statement
  • Record all credit card transactions
  • Handle the emailing of quarterly contribution statements
  • Keep senior pastor informed of any pertinent financial information
  • Prepare budget and internal audit annually
  • Help prepare annual Conference check out reports

Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting /finance or related field desired
  • Financial management experience preferred
  • Previous experience in accounts payable
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
