Time expectation

Total hours: 25-30 hours per week

  • Sunday: 8am-12pm
  • Monday-Wednesday: 9am-3pm

Other:

  • Quarterly church council meetings
  • Monthly Finance Team meetings
  • Special worship events

Position Purpose

The Finance Administrator of FUMC Arlington exists to oversee all financial and administrative obligations and plans for the church.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Financial

  • Serve as a liaison to a 3rd party bookkeeping firm.
  • Process all incoming invoices, bills, credit card statements, or reimbursement requests to 3rd party bookkeeping firm.
  • Serve as a bank signer and cut in-person checks as instructed.
  • Ensure that Trustee Team receives quarterly reports on all investments held.
  • Ensure that Finance Team receives monthly reports on Statement of Financial Position and Budget vs. Actual.
  • Recruit and oversee a volunteer team of money counters.
  • Input donations into Planning Center/Donor Management.
  • Deposit cash and checks on Monday and process deposit information to 3rd party bookkeeping service.
  • Assist Senior Pastor, Communications Director, and Finance Team with an annual stewardship campaign.
  • Assist Senior Pastor and Finance Team with putting together an annual budget.
  • Enter pledge card information.

 

Administrative

  • Ensure the church office has the supplies that it needs.
  • Oversee contracts for printer, postage machine, and any software subscriptions/licenses.
  • Serve as the backup to the front desk and phone calls.
  • Oversee that all employees and volunteers are in compliance with Ministry Safe and background check training and policies.
  • Serve as the food safety point person for the commercial kitchen.
  • Oversee the administrative tasks associated with the columbarium, including executing niche contracts and being the lead on internment procedures.
  • Oversee and execute occasional church mailings, alongside Receptionist.
  • Execute wedding contracts
  • Be present at the Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings to answer logistical, administrative, or financial questions.
