Program Coordinator

The Horizon Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church seeks a Program Coordinator for the Center for Multiplication. This position plays a vital administrative role in supporting churches across the Horizon Texas Conference (HTC) by managing key programs, coordinating resources, and ensuring accountability with grants and reporting. This position requires strong administrative and project management skills to facilitate seasonal initiatives, training programs, and leadership development opportunities while maintaining detailed records and ensuring efficient workflow processes. The Program Coordinator also supports strategic planning, document management, and assisting to maintain strong partnerships with clergy, churches, and organizational teams. Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented professionals with expertise in administration and project management. The Program Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of HTC’s mission—to multiply Jesus followers and equip clergy and laity for impactful ministry.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, organize, and manage seasonal programs for HTC churches, such as:
    • The Educational Intercessors Initiative
    • Advent and Lent resources focused on multiplying Jesus followers
    • Training events and programs for clergy and laity
  • Implement project management best practices to track deadlines, ensure high-quality execution, and optimize administrative processes.
  • Manage program workflow, ensuring adherence to goals, guidelines, and accountability.
  • Support ethnic ministry programming, including the Black Church Academy, Young Persons of Color Fellowship Program, 100 Latinos/as Adorn and other cultural initiatives.
  • Work with the Board of Ordained Ministry (BOM) to coordinate:
    • Commissioning and ordination interviews
    • Residency and candidacy programs for clergy in discernment and formation
  • Gather and organize information necessary for grants given by the Multiplication Team to local churches, ensuring punctual processing of check requests, accountability with funding requirements, and accurate financial records for programs and grants.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or 5 years of equivalent experience required.
  • Possess strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and create strong communication systems throughout a complex organization.
  • Strong administrative skills to ensure accountability, reporting, and program coordination run smoothly.
  • Strong networking skills for coordination of resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse work environment and communicate effectively with culturally diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written, digital, and social media communication skills.
  • Self-Starter with ability to work independently, stay on task and meet key deadlines. Anticipates needs and demonstrates initiative.  Ability to assist others to stay on task and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a demonstrated ability to create and manage spreadsheets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills that incorporate appropriate levels of ingenuity, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Spanish-language or Korean-language skills are a plus.
  • Commitment to continuous growth in cultural competencies.
