Facilities Manager

Job Summary

The Facilities Manager oversees the operation and maintenance of the church’s building, building systems, equipment, security, housekeeping, and grounds, ensuing the facility is fully operational, safe, clean, prepared for services and ministry activities, and is a welcoming environment for visitors and members. The position holder performs general maintenance/repairs for the building and equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical), oversees outside contractors/trades when needed, and acts as the church representative for required inspections and certifications. The role includes collaborative communications with staff, trustees, finance, ministry teams, volunteers, and members regarding facility needs or issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for inspecting, maintaining and limited repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating
  • Coordinate and facilitate set-up and take-down for scheduled church events
  • Be familiar with eSpace calendar application (training provided)
  • Update weekly the “Ideal Impact” HVAC software
  • Oversee and lead custodial associate in the daily and scheduled cleaning of the facility. 
  • Manage cleaning of the facilities.
  • Order supplies related to custodial and maintenance/repairs.
  • Update the door access security program as needed
  • Coordinate all intrusion alarm activities
  • Coordinator Fire Alarm activation system
  • Schedule all state and local required inspections, certifications, and renewals.
  • Coordinate vendors of IT, telephone and internet service
  • Review expense categories and prepare a budget each fiscal year,

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in management team staff meetings.
  • Resource volunteer-assisted activities of the facility.
  • Maintain a “preferred service contractors/vendors” list.
  • Assist landscaping and grounds maintenance volunteers as needed
  • Become familiar with the Ministry Brands-FellowshipOne Go church management system (training provided)
  • Coordinate with Trustees for insurance needs
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have a general working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and housekeeping techniques and/or systems.
  • Prior experience in facility maintenance function or related role
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • A servant attitude and heart for ministry
  •  
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Able to climb and work from ladders
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to walk for extended periods of time on a varying elevations and perform functions requiring bending, stooping, lifting and overhead activity.
  • Position has both indoor and outdoor activities.
