Position Summary:
The Worship Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership over the entire worship life of the church. This position oversees the Director of Music and coordinates all elements of worship—visual, musical, liturgical, and technological—to ensure a Spirit-filled, theologically sound, and culturally resonant worship experience. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a deep understanding of African American worship traditions, contemporary relevance, and the ability to equip and unify creative teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Worship Planning & Leadership
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to design weekly and seasonal worship experiences that align with sermon series and liturgical calendar.
- Coordinate worship elements including music, Scripture, media, dance, and visual arts.
Team Oversight & Development
- Supervise the Director of Music, media volunteers, and worship leaders.
- Recruit, train, and empower a diverse team of volunteers and creatives across worship disciplines.
Creative Direction
- Provide leadership in developing new worship expressions that reflect the culture and calling of Campus Drive UMC.
- Ensure worship remains Christ-centered, engaging, and inclusive of African American heritage and innovation.
Technology & Communication
- Oversee coordination of worship slides, livestream tech, and multimedia presentations with the AV team.
- Assist in creating promotional and worship-related content for digital and in-person experiences.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in worship leadership in a multicultural or African American church setting
- Knowledge of both traditional and contemporary worship expressions
- Strong organizational, communication, and team-building skills
- Theological alignment with the United Methodist Church and passion for urban ministry
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with musicians, tech staff, and volunteers
Hours & Expectations:
- Part-time or full-time depending on candidate and budget
- Required presence on Sundays, planning meetings, and rehearsals
