Position Overview
The Director, Marketing and Communication will shape and share Argyle UMC’s story with excellence, clarity, and creativity. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a vibrant, multi-platform communication strategy that supports all areas of church life—from worship and discipleship to preschool ministry and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic and spiritual leadership for all internal and external communications.
- Elevate and unify Argyle UMC’s visual identity and storytelling approach.
- Lead data-informed assessments of marketing and communication effectiveness.
- Integrate Kingdom Kids Preschool into broader church communication efforts.
- Program Development
- Design and manage a comprehensive church-wide communication and marketing plan.
- Oversee website, social media, graphic design, worship slides, and livestream/video content.
- Maintain brand consistency across all platforms and ministries.
- Coordinate sponsorship efforts and support special events.
- Team & Volunteer Development
- Build and lead a volunteer Communications Team.
- Train staff and volunteers to promote their ministries effectively.
- Coordinate Sunday morning sound booth slide volunteers.
- Collaboration & Administration
- Serve as a communication liaison among clergy, staff, committees, and volunteers.
- Manage communication budgets and media licensing agreements.
- Occasionally supervise contractors and third-party vendors.
Qualifications
- Required:
- A deep and growing faith in Jesus Christ
- Alignment with the mission and values of the United Methodist Church
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with diverse media platforms (print, web, video, social)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing or communication within a complex organization
- Understanding of United Methodist structure and culture
Work Schedule & Expectations
This is a full-time role requiring Sunday presence and occasional evening/weekend availability. Regular office hours during the week are expected for planning, meetings, and administrative work.
