Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience and knowledge of general construction and basic carpentry skills

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Inspects buildings and evaluates use of TMUMC space and facilities.
• Coordinates and supervises the cleanliness and setup of all church facilities in accordance with the church calendar and scheduling system.
• Analyzes TMUMC’s HVAC systems, lighting, energy management and security systems.
• Manages HVAC service provider and ensures all equipment is properly maintained and monitored and service calls escalated as deemed necessary.
• Assists in the coordination of facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
• Acts as TMUMC liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
• Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
• Oversees the coordination of building space allocations, layout, and staff relocations.
• Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair and preventative maintenance.
• Manages contract labor providing janitorial, porter and maintenance services.
• Maintains the beauty of church grounds and supervises contract maintenance and other personnel regarding all properties services and upkeep including:
  • All lawns and property boundaries
  • Irrigation
  • Landscaping
  • Parking lots
  • Walkways
  • Street entrances
  • Exterior lighting
• Weekly inspections of building and grounds for needed repairs and completion of repairs or coordination of repairs with outside vendors when necessary and appropriate.
• Maintains current vendor list.
• Serves as emergency contact for fire, police, elevator and alarm contractors.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

May require extended work hours

Frequently:  Lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, squatting, standing

Occasionally:  Sitting, fine manipulation, crawling
