Job Title: Director of Children and Youth Ministries

SUMMARY
The Director of Children and Youth Ministries, with the guidance of the Senior Pastor and committee chairpersons, will develop, plan, coordinate, supervise, implement, and conduct children’s and family ministries within the church to help further the spiritual life and faith of the church.
This is an exempt part-time position; however, it is estimated that an average maximum of twenty hours per week will probably be required to complete the essential duties and responsibilities.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bi-lingual desirable, but not mandatory.
- Musical skills desirable, but not mandatory.
- Tech skills/Social media savvy.
- Dependability and promptness are a must.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification is required.
- Must pass a criminal background check and complete MinistrySafe certification.
- Experience working with children and/or youth.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
- Must provide personal and professional references.
- Present on Sunday morning during Sunday School and worship service.
- Availability for special children/youth functions at the church during the month of December (Christmas play, etc.), during Easter (Easter Egg Hunt and other Holy Week and Easter functions, and during Vacation Bible School is mandatory.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion in all communications.

- Direct or participate in the planning of Vacation Bible School. (Suggested activities would include but not be limited to: recruitment and training of children’s Sunday School teachers and volunteers; developing/maintaining a database of families and children and youth to include ages and contact information.)
- A primary responsibility of this position will be recruiting new children and youth. Develop relationships with and interact with local school counselors and explore opportunities to participate with local school programs.
- Explore opportunities to initiate or participate in children/youth/family programs at nearby apartment complexes.
- Actively work with worship ministry on Children’s Church, children’s sermon, and children’s choir programs.
- Actively work with the Senior Pastor on youth/children confirmation activities.
- Develop, plan, coordinate, supervise and implement, under the authority of the Senior Pastor, seasonal, summer, and long-term programs, including fellowship opportunities, mission trips and camps.
- Lead and coordinate Children’s Council and Youth Council. Each of these groups must meet at least quarterly.
- Maintain communications with the parents of children/youth within the church, and with the children and youth themselves, to encourage participation in the life of the congregation.
- With the intention of reaching new families with children, coordinate and work with the Outreach, Nurture, and Evangelism ministries and any other groups within the church to reach out to the neighborhood schools and residences. This includes planning and promoting special events inside and outside the church and promoting the church to the community.
- Welcome first-time guests, especially those families with children or youth.
- Report to the Senior Pastor on the needs of families and children and youth within the congregation.
- Recruit new children and youth. Develop relationships with and interact with local school counselors and explore opportunities to participate with local school programs
