(Flexible schedule depending on upon events that are out of “office hours”)
Position Purpose
The Director of Communications exists to ensure that the mission, vision, and values of First United Methodist Church of Arlington are regularly promoted and highlighted in meaningful, articulate, and visually exciting ways both internally and externally. The Director of Communications will set the strategy and carry out the implementation of all things related to the website, social media, graphic design, print media and signage, photography, and videography.
Tasks and Responsibilities

Develop and manage strategic communications plan.

Alongside Senior Pastor, develop the communication annual budget.

Update and oversee brand management.

Design graphics for all events and sermon series.

Coordinate production and distribution/placement of all printed materials, including but not limited to postcards, brochures, flyers, signage, or printed ads.

Develop a team of photographers and videographers to capture content for use on the church’s website, social media, printed materials, and in-church visual displays.

Put-together and send the church’s weekly e-newsletter.

Keep the church’s website up to date with accurate information and visually current styles.

Use social media well for advertising, information sharing, and storytelling.

Manage the church’s social media and web presence.

Alongside receptionist, update event and advertising flyers throughout church.

Attend all staff meetings.

Serve as the primary calendar admin for the church’s event planning software.
