Director of Youth Ministry

Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry to lead our ministry for students in grades 6 through 12. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships with youth and their families, fostering a supportive community that encourages faith exploration and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Holistic Youth Engagement: Develop and implement programs that address the spiritual, emotional, and social development of youth.
- Relationship Building: Establish strong connections with students and their families, providing support and guidance through various life stages and challenges.
- Staff Collaboration: Work closely with church staff, attending weekly staff meetings (Tuesdays) and contributing to a team-oriented environment. Support staff are available to work in many adjacent areas like finance and communications.
- Community Presence: Attend youth extracurricular activities (e.g., sports events, performances) to show support and maintain a visible presence in their lives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in youth ministry or related fields.
- Strong understanding of Wesleyan/United Methodist theology.
- Ability to relate to and engage with individuals in a suburban context.
- Residency within the greater Katy area
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive for the area and will be commensurate with experience and skills.
