Technical AV Coordinator (Online Worship)

The Technical AV Coordinator oversees audio/visual production and streaming for Sunday morning worship services at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church.
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 6 hours per week on Sunday mornings (approximately 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) plus preparation time during normal business hours. Additional hours may be requested as needed for special events or worship services (funerals, festival services such as Christmas Eve and Holy Week, etc.).

Job Responsibilities

Oversee audio/visual production and streaming for Sunday morning services and special events (funerals, holiday services, concerts, etc.).

Set up microphones and sound equipment before services/events; coordinate needs with the Director of Music.

Conduct sound checks with musicians for house and online sound; prepare sound scripts for youth soundboard volunteers.

Train, supervise and guide video, slide and soundboard volunteers.

Troubleshoot sound and soundboard issues during services/events.

Plan and manage camera angles and scenes in collaboration with worship leaders as needed.

Start and monitor live streams to Facebook/YouTube and other designated platforms.

After services, end the live stream, store equipment, and shut down cameras, computers, and other systems.

Maintain and monitor audio/visual equipment, including replacing batteries and notifying the office of supply needs.

Complete setup and technical expertise as equipment and software changes.

Provide at least 2 weeks' notice to Associate Pastor Isabel Marquez if unavailable. Arrange for substitutes and train them if required, based on experience.
Qualifications and Skills Required

Audio Expertise: Proficient in setting up and operating sound equipment, including microphones and soundboards. Advanced audio mixing skills are a significant plus.

Production Equipment Proficiency: Experience with multi-camera broadcast systems (e.g., Vaddio Bridge Matrix AV), switchers, and production cameras.

Software Skills: Expertise in ProPresenter 7 for worship presentation, Canva for visual content creation, and knowledge of live-stream software such as OBS, Vimeo Livestream, or similar platforms.

Streaming Knowledge: Competency in managing Zoom meetings and live streaming to platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo.

Volunteer Engagement: Experience required in working with volunteers.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Style: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, collaborative, and relational, with the ability to stay composed under pressure.
