Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education/Child Development/Similar field
- Certified in CPR & First Aid
- Experience working with Children
- Good oral communication skills
Duties
- Prepare, submit, and implement weekly lesson plans using TEC’s Curriculum Guide
- Submit monthly supply lists
- Prepare monthly bulletin board that reflects God’s love or themed activities
- Communicate with the Assistant Teacher about daily lessons, preparation needs, supply needs, etc.
- Adapt teaching methods and lessons to meet the interests, needs, and learning styles of children
- Communicate information to parents in a variety of ways, including a Private Class Facebook Group
- Interact with parents in a warm, supportive manner and schedule conferences with parents at least once per year or as requested
- Prepare the classroom for daily activities
- Provide a safe environment free of hazards and supervise and monitor the safety of children at all times
- Lead the class in circle time, games, songs, or stories
- Assist children in learning centers, small groups, art activities, outdoor activities, etc.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers, and supervisors
- Assist with toileting/diapering when needed
- Attend all TEC Staff meetings, age level meetings, and additional scheduled meetings
- Adhere to TMUMC Staff Handbook, TEC Staff Addendum, and TEC Parent Handbook
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent: Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, running and walking
