Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and fluent bilingual translator to provide English to Spanish translation services during our weekly worship services. This role is crucial in fostering an inclusive worship environment, ensuring that all members of our congregation can fully participate in services regardless of their primary language.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time translation of worship services from English to Spanish.
- Work closely with the pastoral team to understand sermon themes and biblical texts to ensure accurate translations.
- Assist in translating written materials related to the worship service, such as bulletins and hymns.
- Occasionally support church events outside of regular worship services that require translation services.
Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Experience in translation or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with religious vocabulary and practices preferred.
- Ability to translate in real-time and adapt to changes in speech flow.
- A respectful and sensitive approach to diverse theological and cultural perspectives.
Compensation: Hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
