Offers a variety of poverty-fighting programs throughout Dallas, but especially in South Dallas. There are numerous volunteer opportunities listed on the CitySquare website ranging from direct services in the thrift store and food pantry to training and public policy advocacy.

Dallas Bethlehem Center Is a 67-year-old faith-based mission of the United Methodist Church located in the heart of South Dallas. DBC seeks to be a conduit for solution-minded people to connect, support, encourage and follow potential leaders follow living in DBC’s service area.  Call  214-428-5171 or website
Reading Partners Is a highly-regarded organization that trains and places academic tutors in elementary schools to help children struggling to learn to read. They are approved by the Dallas Independent School District, and they are working in 17 schools which serve South Dallas. website
Kids Hope USA Teaches churches how to engage their members in one-to-one mentoring relationships with at-risk public school children, something that is especially needed in South Dallas. Three Dallas churches —Munger Place, Lovers Lane and Grace — are partnering with them. website
