July 6-10, 2020
Prothro Retreat Center
The camp seeks to train 6-12 graders in leadership skills and give them opportunities to practice those skills.
How Does it Work?
The first day of camp will be spent training and preparing youth to lead and participate in a children's camp that will be taking place at Prothro on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Youth will be responsible for designing and implementing certain aspects of this camp. Our junior high leaders will be paired with different groups of children while our high school youth will be responsible for facilitating different activities, worship and more.
Adults will be used as a safety and support system for the youth leaders. Friday will be spent reflecting on their experiences: what they have learned and what they can take with them.
Who is This Camp Designed for?
Space is limited at Prothro, so we are specifically targeting small- to medium-size churches. Large churches who want to send one or two from their youth groups to get leadership experience are welcome.
What is the Goal of Leadership Camp?
Our goal is to create an environment where young people can practice and improve their leadership skills. Our hope is that youth will take what they experience at Leadership Camp back to their church where they can continue to fine-tune their abilities.
