Job Description

Responsible for coordinating and implementing all aspects of congregational care needs for Wylie UMC with the goal of ensuring that needs for care, volunteers and follow-up are handled.

Duties

Congregational Care:

  • Prayer requests (all kinds) – directed to Pastor or appropriate staff member
  • Journeying Through Grief booklets
  • Birthday/Anniversary cards
  • Volunteer appreciation
  • Coordinate “Coffee with the Pastor” events

Outreach/Guest Connection:

  • Fellowship Nights
  • Promoting events outside the church (all ministry areas) via “weekly snapshot” email
  • Coordinate all-church events outside of worship
  • Manage email list of previous events for invites to next event
  • Disseminate information to be utilized on website, bulletins, and church calendar

Sunday Morning Volunteers:

  • Host the Welcome Center
  • Distribute order of service to all worship participants
  • Coordinate with acolytes
  • Coordinate Sunday AM volunteers (welcome center, ushers, greeters, lay readers, donuts/coffee)
  • Create system to actively recruit new volunteers for Sunday AM

Requirements

  • Availability on Sundays from 8am-12:30pm
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
  • Professional level verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
