Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Pianist to join our team to play piano for Wednesday evening choir practice, traditional Worship Services on Sundays and additional services including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and the ability to play the piano proficiently.
Duties
- Collaborate with other musicians or performers as needed
- Adapt musical selections to suit different audiences and atmospheres
- Rehearse and prepare music for performances
- Provide background music or accompany singers or instrumentalists
Qualifications
- Proficient in following the direction of the Choir Director
- Proficient in reading and playing musical scores
- Strong sight-reading skills
- Ability to improvise and play by ear
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job type: Part-time
Work location: In person at church
Pay: $9,000-$10,000 per year
Expected hours: 4 – 6 per week
