Wesley UMC Greenville: Organist

Wesley UMC is seeking a talented and dedicated Organist to join our church community. The Organist will play a vital role in enhancing our worship services through the beautiful music of the organ.

Joining Wesley UMC as our Church Organist offers you the opportunity to showcase your musical talents in a welcoming and supportive environment. 

Responsibilities

• Play the organ during scheduled church services, including Sunday worship services and special events
• Select appropriate music pieces that align with the theme of each service
• Collaborate with the choir director and other musicians to enhance musical performances
• Attend rehearsals and meetings as required
• Maintain the organ in good condition by reporting any issues promptly

Qualifications

• Proficient in playing the organ with a deep understanding of musical theory and notation
• Experience playing in a church setting is preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with other musicians and church staff
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
• Knowledge of theater music is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11,000 - $12,000 per year

Work location: In person at church

Expected hours: 4-8 per week
