University United Methodist Church, located in downtown Austin, is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) Director of Youth Ministries. The qualified candidate will have previous experience working with youth, the ability to communicate with parents, and have a love for spiritual formation in the lives of youth (6th – 12th grade.)
The Director of Youth Ministries will primarily be responsible for providing programming and weekly activities for youth and their families including but not limited to: Methodist Youth Fellowship, service projects, camps/retreats/mission trips, Sunday School, and more. The Director will have the support and collaboration with the Associate Pastor for Family Ministries and the Youth Ministry Committee.
Each candidate should be a team player, have excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving skills, computer skills, and demonstrate an ability to plan and implement programs. Previous church experience is preferred.
The main goal for the Director of Youth Ministries is to build relationships with children and their families, develop a team of volunteers and to empower, and support parents on the journey.
UUMC is a progressive Methodist church with a passion for social justice.
