University United Methodist Church, located in downtown Austin, is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Director of Children’s Ministries. The qualified candidate will have previous experience working with children, the ability to communicate with parents at ease, and have a love for spiritual formation in the lives of children (birth to 5th grade.)
The Director of Children’s Ministries will primarily be responsible for providing programming and weekly activities for children and their families including but not limited to: Parent’s Night Out, Vacation Church Camp, Sunday School, Church Camping Trip, Easter Festival, Pancake Supper, and more.
The Director of Children’s Ministries will have the support and collaboration with the Associate Pastor for Family Ministries and the Children’s Committee.
Each candidate should also have excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving skills, computer skills, and demonstrate an ability to plan and implement programs. Previous church experience is preferred.
The main goal for the Director of Children’s Ministries is to build relationships with children and their families, develop a team of volunteers and to empower, and support parents on the journey.
UUMC is a progressive Methodist church with a passion for social justice. We worship approximately 350 on Sunday morning and attract a wide range of people from all over Austin and the surrounding community.
