Job Description

This position supports all ministries of the church by providing audio/lighting/video technical support aimed at operating/maintaining systems related to live-stream video content and in-house projection systems during worship services, ministry programs, small group meetings, etc. – both for live/live-streamed events and recorded events. 

The position operates under the mission of the church: Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World.

Reports to: Director of Music & Worship


  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers who run audio/lighting/video/live-stream content for worship services and other occasions throughout the year
  • Communicate with volunteers the importance of excellence in all that we do, maintaining a professional and positive attitude, and set achievable goals with high standards
  • Maintain a weekly schedule, coordinated with volunteers, to make sure all required a/v operations have personnel assigned for each need
  • Produce video content for various ministry needs within the church
  • Upload recordings of services and other video content to Trinity’s YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, and Church-Online platforms
  • Input all service elements into ProPresenter 7 slide-presentation software
  • Run a/v functions for music, sermon, and recorded video content during services when volunteers are unable to do so
  • Produce weekly announcement videos
  • Support and assist with worship planning needs for both of Trinity’s worship services – Traditional Worship and Thrive Contemporary Worship
  • Produce video content as needed for all ministries within the church
  • Attend worship rehearsals as needed to provide video/digital media support
  • Produce announcement slide content for common-area and lobby video monitors
  • Operate within established budgets to perform a/v functions
  • Stay current and ahead of the curve with technologies for worship and church environments
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and meet with other staff to plan events and activities related to video and digital communication needs
  • Support the audio/video/digital media needs of program directors and clergy of the church
  • Meet weekly with the Director of Music & Worship to review job performance, make plans for future needs, and assist in the worship planning process
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience working in the a/v industry and church live-event production preferred
  • Some college or bachelor’s degree preferred


  • Active believer and follower of Jesus Christ
  • Superior knowledge and demonstrated experience running digital audio systems, including digital consoles, remote head-amps, EQ functions, dynamics and effects, channel and bus patching, A/D and D/A conversions, virtual racks, digital snakes, personal mix systems, multi-track recording, low-latency networking, and audio within IP systems
  • Thorough understanding and familiarity with room acoustics, real-time analyzers, and speaker placement
  • Experience operating studio and theatrical lighting systems, including digital lighting consoles, DMX control and addressing, ARTNet systems, all types of LED and incandescent fixtures, lighting and color for the camera, remote dimmer systems, recallable scenes, chases, etc.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering as it pertains to weight loads and safety procedures for hanging lighting fixtures in public spaces
  • Superior knowledge in usage of all common a/v equipment, including but not limited to audio, lighting, staging, data, video, and broadcast equipment
  • Mastery using video editing hardware and software
  • A working knowledge of visual-design, brand development, web publishing, and the creative process
  • Experience with graphics software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and CMS
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to supervise and train volunteers – include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive working attitude
  • Willingness to work odd hours as needed
