Job Description

Rockbridge is a United Methodist Church located at 2001 W. New Hope Drive in Cedar Park. Surrounded by neighborhoods with families of all ages, we are a multi-aged active and supportive congregation that seeks to be the bridge to connect our local community to Jesus Christ.

Our dynamic pastor, Eric Douglas, was appointed to our church last year and church growth has been rapid. We average 80-100 in attendance at our 10 a.m. casual and contemporary Worship Service on Sundays, both online and in person, with up to 20+ children in attendance on any given Sunday. Our Youth Group currently has 6 regular attenders.

The spiritual growth of Children and Youth are nurtured through programs and services that work together to form a pathway of discipleship.

Our current Children’s Worship Director is relocating with her family out of state, and we are searching for an experienced Children’s and Youth’s Director who is passionate about working with Children and Youth to continue building our programs. The Children’s and Youth Ministry Director will understand and communicate theology to our Children and Youth, plan and provide the curriculum to paid contractors and volunteers, and oversee all related programs.

Duties

• Develop an engaging curriculum for Preschool, Children, Youth that ties in to the planned Worship Service:

  • Sunday’s Children’s Church

  • Sunday evening Youth Meetings/activities/outings

  • Wednesday’s at Rockbridge - Children and Youth programs

• Deliver the “Children’s Moment” on Sundays, before taking the Children to their classrooms for Children’s Church.

• Coordinate Youth mission trips.

• Recruit and oversee Ministry Safe volunteers and contractors to assist with programs.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents.

• Maintain supply orders of all materials needed for Children’s and Youth Ministries.

• Appoint designated leader and oversee Vacation Bible School annually.

• Submit operating budget to church board annually.

• Assist with special events such as the annual Spring Fling and Fall Fest.

• Attend weekly staff meetings to achieve cohesiveness among all Rockbridge ministries.

• Familiarity with “Planning Center” software is a plus.

Details

• This is a salaried position, with the ability to work both remotely and in office once an initial training period has taken place.  

• Salary is commensurate with experience, ranging between $40k and $50k annually.

• Approximately 20-25 hours per week is anticipated to perform all duties once training is completed.

• Generous earned PTO up to 4 weeks after a 90-day probationary period.
