Job Description

The Executive Director (ED) leads the mission of serving our neighbors who live on fixed, limited or low incomes with resources to address their physical, educational and spiritual needs. The ED is accountable to the senior pastor of Lake Highlands UMC and the Board of Directors of Feed Lake Highlands (FLH).

The ED serves as the leader providing overall management, planning, execution and leadership for all aspects of the FLH organization. This includes effective programs/services, fundraising, donor stewardship, board/staff development and finance and budget management.

The ED is responsible for positioning the non-profit as a leader in building relationships with and serving our neighbors in need within the Lake Highlands community as well as establishing effective partnerships and collaborations with local businesses, foundations, community leaders and other community organizations, nonprofits, and supporters. 

The ED is the main spokesperson for spreading the message of Fighting Hunger and Feeding Hope as we feed the body, mind and soul of our neighbors who hunger for more.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: 65-75k


  • Responsible for planning, organization and direction of the non-profit’s operations and programs.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures and operational reporting/metrics.
  • Oversees and reports on the organization’s results for board of directors.
  • Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of staff to ensure appropriate support of all programs.
  • Manage staff in a manner that supports a productive work force in an environment respectful of personal well-being and cultural diversity.
  • Communicate effectively and inspire others to high performance; promote accountability; remove barriers; support others to be creative and action-oriented; anticipate needs before they appear.
  • Retains a qualified staff and volunteers by providing training as needed.
  • Develop annual performance expectations with staff that includes goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates and leads annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews and periodic forecast updates with treasurer and bookkeeper.
  • Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results.
  • Ensures that services, volunteers, and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
  • Attend community meetings and outreach activities, as needed.

  • Effective communicator and willingness to speak to a group.
  • Strong administrative, leadership and time management skills.
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 or more years of management experience
