Job Description

First United Methodist Church of Plano is seeking full-time energetic, executive-thinking, team-building manager for our front office of 12+ staff, 10+ volunteers and 1500 clients who we serve and welcome with the love and excellence of Christ.

 The ideal candidate will be:

  • Attentive to her/his own spiritual life

  • Knowledgeable of United Methodist systems and prepare reports for the same

  • Know Microsoft Office suite, ACS (or similar) and data management

  • Versed in copiers, printers and folding machines

  • Motivating and attentive to volunteers, staff and guests

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail

  • Proud to be the first impression for the church

  • Take initiative and follow-through to completion

  • Coordinate all events and vendors through the church calendar

  • Sensitive to the variety of needs that walk through the door

  • A strong support for the Lead Pastor and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, supervise and schedule office volunteers.

  • Serve as the point of contact person for the church.

  • Build strong relationships with all staff and ministry areas.

  • Prepare necessary reports.

  • Maintain data including members and visitor information.

  • Coordinate and maintain the church calendar and assist in planning events.

  • Prepare church bulletins for worship services and other events.

  • Support Lead and Associate Pastors as needed.

  • Track employee data including paid time off.

  • Provide support to ministry programming staff as needed.

  • Welcome visitors, volunteers, and our community as they walk through our door.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree preferred, but not required.

  • Church administration experience or equivalent preferred, but not required.

  • Familiarity with church operations and administration is a plus.

  • Experience with administrative and clerical work Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask.

  • Friendly and upbeat demeanor.
