First UMC Denton, a dynamic downtown church community, is looking for an experienced children’s ministry leader who loves kids, and loves helping kids discover the beauty and wonder of God's story in engaging, creative, and meaningful ways!

This person will help create a welcoming community, an empowered team, meaningful lessons, and dynamic experiences designed just for kids.
Responsibilities
- Energizing, strengthening, and growing the children’s ministries of FUMC Denton, while building engaging relationships and cultivating strong connections with children and families inside and outside the church through both engaging programs and in informal settings
- Helping parents and guardians inspire curiosity and spiritual interest in their children
- Guiding and providing vision, leadership, and volunteer empowerment for activities such as:
- Sunday School (weekly)
- Nursery (weekly)
- Vacation Bible School (summer)
- Family and intergenerational events (seasonal)
- Church-wide events such as Easter Egg Hunt and Back-to-School celebrations
- Summer Camp
- Recruitment, organization, and supervision of paid staff and volunteers, also making certain each is in compliance with our child protection policy
- Curation or creation of curriculum that engages children, nurtures their faith, and aligns with our church’s theology, programming, and vision
- Maintenance of supplies and shared spaces that are used for children to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
- Facilitating kid-focused and intergenerational mission opportunities
- Working in partnership with the Children’s Ministry Council and the Discipleship Team to maintain a vision and supportive core for key areas of responsibility
- Maintaining excellent communication – targeted, effective, and consistent
- Managing relevant budgets and finances
- Participating in Staff meetings, Ministry Team meetings, and other collaborative opportunities to bring children’s ministry to the center of our life together
- Reporting to the Executive Pastor
