Job Description

Salary: Commiserate with Experience

Primary Areas of Leadership:

  • Children’s Ministry
  • Mission Possible Kids Children’s Camps and Events Worship

Associated Tasks for Children’s Ministry:

  • Create a culture that encourages, guides, and inspires children K-4th grade towards a relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Lead and oversee the Director of Pre-School Ministries and volunteer directors of Children’s Choir.

  • Work with Children’s Ministry Team to equip and inspire their ownership of children’s ministry. Put team to work in things like hospitality to children, making children’s space inviting and well-kept, curriculum development, VBS, etc.

  • Work with Children’s Team to recruit, train, and equip volunteers to give children meaningful and spiritually healthy adult contact.

  • Make all efforts to provide a safe environment through Ministry Safe and other systems.

  • Procure leadership for Children’s choir.

  • Procure or develop curriculum that educates children about the basics of Christian belief, scriptural stories, and Christian living.

  • Design transformational opportunities on a weekly and occasional basis to inspire children towards a relationship with Jesus.

  • Serve as primary pastoral contact for children and their families.

  • Establish meaningful relationships with children and their families.

  • Serve as an advocate for children and their families in church leadership meetings.

  • Promote, inform, and encourage children’s participation in all levels of the church.

Associated Tasks for Mission Possible Kids

  • Procure leadership or lead Mission Possible Kids to teach children about the joy of servanthood.

  • Develop a plan alongside the Family Ministry Team and Missions Team that allows children to learn the joy of servanthood and help with the church-wide mission objectives.

Associated Tasks for Children’s Camps and Events

  • Promote and, if possible, attend elementary camp at Bridgeport.

  • Promote and, if possible, attend any other camp events for elementary aged children (ex: Camp Bible)

  • Alongside Children’s Team host 2-3 events per year that provide a fun, family-friendly atmosphere for kids to celebrate their faith, come together in community, and invite their friends (ex: Trunk or Treat, Festivals, Back to School bash, etc.)

Associated Tasks for Worship

  • Attend Worship Planning Meeting and provide perspective on how kids can benefit and/or be a part of worship.

  • Lead or procure leadership for children’s time.

  • Alongside Children’s Team or volunteers ensure that a children’s worship bag or other meaningful activities are present for children in worship.
