Job Description

The office manager position includes, doing administrative work, providing support to the pastor, helping each ministry with their printed materials, being the hub of communication for the church as a whole and helping anyone who may come through the door or call. Each of these interactions help support the ministry of the church, staff and congregation as they create disciples for the transformation of the world.

Required Qualifications

  • Competent writing skill
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Typing proficiency
  • Hospitality
  • Website and calendar management
  • Computer and app proficiency with, or willingness to earn the following programs: Mailchimp, Microsoft Office, Google G-Suite for Non-Profits, Gmail, Zoom, Email, Canva, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Elexio (or other church management software)

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with United Methodist polity and practices
  • Self-starter attitude


  • Welcoming visitors to the office and addressing their needs as able
  • Answering the phone and checking voicemail and addressing needs
  • Creating and sending out of newsletter, worship bulletin and worship scripts each week
  • Ordering office and ministry supplies as needed
  • Coordinate receipt and payment of bills with the church treasurer
  • Maintaining and managing the calendar and website
  • Helping bolster communications within and outside the church
  • Maintaining non-financial records such as membership, attendance, and the prayer list
  • Handling conference paperwork and annual reports, including, but not limited to Charge Conference and Checkout
  • Attend weekly staff meeting
  • Assisting the pastor and other staff members as needed
