Central Texas Conference: Praxis Internship in Pastoral Leadership

Date Posted: 12/13/2023

Central Texas Conference, Fort Worth, TX

Job Description

The Praxis Internship in Pastoral Leadership provides undergraduate college students an opportunity to experience pastoral ministry through a paid internship in a local church. In his second letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul reminded him to "fan into flame the gift of God" (2 Timothy 1:6, NIV). Through a guided experience of action and reflection (Praxis), we help college students explore and discern how God might be calling them into ministry and ‘fan into flame’ their passion to serve God.

In 2024, the stipend will be $3500 for the summer. Each intern is matched with a mentor pastor who guides them during the program. Praxis is designed to provide a range of experiences related to pastoral leadership, such as:

  • Preparing and preaching a sermon
  • Preparing and teaching a Bible study series
  • Pastoral care
  • Observing how administration works in a local church
  • Leading others in community and missional engagement opportunities
