Status: Part-Time; 10 hours/week, Sunday mornings are a priority, office hours are flexible
Salary: $7,280/year, salaried, no health benefits
Reports to: Senior Pastor
The Director/Minister shall lead and oversee the people development process whereby the people of Camp Wisdom United Methodist Church are encouraged, equipped and supported to take the next step along the discipleship pathway, including using their God-given gifts in service to each other, to the church and to the community.
The Director/Minister will implement and monitor a process that helps move people along a personalized and integrated pathway of discipleship.
The Director/Minister of Discipleship’s tasks will be to:

Meet one-on-one with self-selected persons affiliated with Camp Wisdom UMC or with the community of which it is a part, facilitating a development process consisting of discernment, reflection and witness.

Document engagement with each person, being sure to maintain confidentiality while exercising ministerial responsibility as described in the UMC Discipline.

Identify, mentor and coach other persons who are called to serve as leaders in the people development process

Additionally, the Director/Minister of Discipleship will work closely with the Senior Pastor to ensure that the personal pathway of discipleship is integrated with the life of the congregation and the community.
The Director/Minister of Discipleship will have a private office to accommodate one-on-one and small group engagement activities. Moreover, the Director/Minister of Discipleship will have access to all church facilities as necessary to implement the people development process.
