Job Description

The Youth Ministry Intern of AUMC will serve under the direction and coordination of the Associate Pastor of Discipleship for Children, Youth and Families. The Youth Ministry intern will assist in multiple levels of participation in the leadership of ministry to and with youth and their families.  

Hours: 10 Hours/week at $10/hour, with possibility for extra hours during special seasons of the church 

Line of Accountability: Associate Pastor of Discipleship for Children, Youth and Families

Start Date: June 1

Responsibilities 

1. WORSHIP

   • Coordinate, in consultation with Youth Staff, weekly Sunday evening youth worship that is authentic and God-inspired

   • Organize and manage students in Youth Praise Band to assist weekly in youth worship

   • Coordinate and facilitate Youth Praise Band participation in yearly Easter Sunrise Service each year and occasional leadership in Sunday morning services (Student Sunday, Family Ministry Sunday, etc.)

   • Maintaining youth praise band binders and music

2. SUNDAYS

   • Lead and facilitate Sunday morning youth gathering, “Thread”

   • Take weekly youth attendance at Sunday night gatherings

   • Plan and gather supplies and help from students to run the upfront game each week at Sunday night gatherings

3. OTHER

   • Send out monthly birthday cards to youth

   • Mission trips, retreats, outings, and events responsibility as available
