Job Description
Communications Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Various
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME: Part-Time / 10 hours per week
General Summary: Responsible for overseeing and completing the overall communication planning and implementation for the church. This role involves a wide range of tasks, from website maintenance to graphic creation and all-church email and social media.
Essential Job Functions:
Regular Church Communication:
- Create and send weekly all-church email update (currently, Friday SnapShot) through Constant Contact
- Collect information for, create, and send all-church monthly newsletter, through Constant Contact and in the mail
- Create and send Sunday morning email with worship and attendance links
- Create and send constant contact emails from church groups and committees to the church
- Create content for and schedule verbiage on the digital church sign Graphic Creation
- Create graphics for announcements, Sunday morning slides, newsletter, seasonal events, etc.
Online/Social Media Presence:
- Keep church website up-to-date with current events and information
- Facilitate meaningful social media presence with current Facebook page
- Expansion of social media presence into other platforms for connection
General Communication/Technology Administration:
- create/edit distribution lists through Office 365 for groups/committees
- Set up and delete users and contacts through Office 365
- Oversee necessary subscriptions for tech-related programs (i.e. propresenter, HelloTech, website host, etc.)
Worship Communication
- Printed bulletin for 9am worship
- ProPresenter Slides
Minimal Job Requirements:
- Familiarity with the liturgical calendar/seasons of the Church
- Creative spirit
- Professional level verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Canva, website creation/maintenance, Microsoft365

Education Requirements: ● Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required ● Three to five years of pertinent, clerical/managerial experience
