Job Description

Program Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Various
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME: Part-Time / 20 hours per week

General Summary: Responsible for behind the scenes work to facilitate and coordinate meaningful program ministry and outreach at the church

Essential Job Functions:

Program Coordination 

  • Oversee Ministry Safe Training and recertification
  • Update/maintain/communicate Christmas and Easter to-do lists with staff and volunteers
  • Print and email materials for children’s Sunday School, weekly
  • Put SS folders in classrooms, weekly ● Coordinate volunteers for children’s ministry, weekly
  • Includes Sunday School, Children’s Church, Children’s Sermon, and Nursery
  • Fill in as needed in any area
  • Work with youth ministry to coordinate any administrative needs for weekly function of events and as-needed for yearly events/trips
  • Support volunteers in regular outreach efforts
  • Provide support to small groups, studies, or other groups working within the church
  • Administration for Pastor studies, small groups, or any other effort

Outreach Coordination 

  • Organize blood drives 4x/year
  • Dorcas Heart Homeless donation drives
  • Organize BIG Gift Tree or comparable Christmas option
  • Organize meals at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with church and Southfork leadership

General Administration 

  • Upkeep of membership/baptism,visitor records
  • Track weekly worship attendance
  • Keep current/past staff and new hire records
  • Order office/kitchen/building supplies
  • Update church manual as needed
  • Maintain copies of all meeting minutes from committees
  • Work with pastor to organize and keep notes on nominations committee
  • Print worship attendance sheets
  • Fill out and submit charge conference and End of Year reports and paperwork

Minimal Job Requirements: 

  • Familiarity with the liturgical calendar/seasons of the Church
  • Creative spirit
  • Professional level verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Three to five years of pertinent, clerical/managerial experience
