The story is familiar; we tell it every year. Jesus is born to a young girl in a borrowed stable and the only ones to hear the good news are those on the outskirts of society — shepherds and wayfarers from other lands. How is this story Good News for us today? How can we share that Good News afresh in 2023? Who are the ones in our own community who need to hear it the most?

This Advent we will journey through the story of God's incarnation, of God becoming one of us — Emmanuel. We will read it with fresh eyes to see and ears to hear the Good News of God's mercy, justice, abundant life and love. The is — and remains — truly good news of great joy for all people.
