Haiti Relief Efforts
Donations
Thank you North Texas Conference for your donations. As of March 1, the total raised here in the North Texas area is $573,000. Nationwide, the total is close to $40 million dollars! For future reference, donations may be sent here to our office to the attention of the Treasurer, Rev. Marvin Guier. Please use fund #277. For online donations, go to www.umcorhaiti.org
Relief Kits Ministry
Many churches have assembled relief kits - including health kits, birthing kits, school kits, and more. This is a year around need for Haiti and other destinations as well. For more information on how to assemble kits, go to www.umcor.org and click on the Relief Kits tab.
Howe United Methodist Church has a trailer that they will store your kits in until they make another trip to the UMCOR Depot in Baldwin, Louisiana. To arrange to drop off kits, please contact the church directly. Their address, phone number, and a map is available here on our website under the main page and the link to "churches".
Mission Trips

The North Texas Conference is sponsoring a trip in January 2011 for team leaders who have not been to Haiti before but are interested in leading a team for their local church. This team is being led by Rev. Marji Bishir. Applications and information are available by emailing our office at the email address missions@ntcumc.org The application dead line is August 1, 2010.
